1 Service Definition
FirmShield is a software platform specialized in security analysis of firmware files. The platform scans files uploaded by the user and generates security reports identifying potential vulnerabilities and remediation recommendations, using binary analysis tools, CVE databases, YARA techniques, and more.
FirmShield is a diagnostic and decision-support tool. It does not constitute a formal security audit or legal compliance certification.
2 Responsibilities and Obligations
FirmShield's responsibilities:
- Provide accurate technical analysis based on the tools and rules available at the time of the scan.
- Maintain the confidentiality of uploaded files and not share them with third parties.
- Regularly update detection rules and security databases.
- Deliver the service with the highest possible level of availability.
Limitations of FirmShield's liability:
⚠️ FirmShield does not guarantee detection of all vulnerabilities present in any firmware. Scan results do not constitute a comprehensive security certification, and some vulnerabilities may fall outside the scope of current detection capabilities.
User responsibilities:
- The user is solely responsible for the files they upload and their content.
- The user must be legally authorized to analyze the uploaded files.
- The platform must not be used for unlawful purposes or to cause harm to third parties.
- The user is responsible for any actions taken based on scan results.
3 Intellectual Property and Data
- Uploaded firmware remains the exclusive property of the user or the entity they represent.
- FirmShield claims no rights over uploaded files or data derived from their analysis.
- FirmShield does not share user data or files with any third party.
- Scan reports belong to the user and may be freely used for their security purposes.
- FirmShield retains full ownership rights over the platform, scanning algorithms, and APIs.
Firmware files are deleted from our servers upon completion of the scan. We do not retain copies of your files.
4 Authorization and Acknowledgments
By accepting these terms, the user acknowledges the following:
- The user expressly authorizes FirmShield to analyze uploaded files for security detection purposes.
- The user confirms that uploaded files are either their own property or that they have explicit permission from the owner to analyze them.
- The user undertakes not to upload stolen files or files owned by parties who have not granted permission for analysis.
- The user acknowledges that scan results are for their personal information only and may not be used as legal evidence without additional verification.
5 Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. FirmShield shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages arising from the use of the platform, reliance on its results, or its failure to detect a specific vulnerability. The user uses the platform entirely at their own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FirmShield's total liability to any user shall not exceed the subscription amount paid during the three preceding months.
6 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
Any dispute arising from these terms or the use of the platform shall be referred to the competent judicial authorities in Algeria. The Arabic language shall be the primary reference in the event of any conflict.
7 Amendments and Updates
FirmShield reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Registered users will be notified of any material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after amendments are published constitutes implicit acceptance of the updated terms.
